Your First Appointment
When you arrive there will be a short intake form for you to complete, then we’ll talk about what you hope to accomplish with your massage.
I’ll suggest some ways to proceed, and we’ll make a flexible plan. By "we" I mean honestly -- you and me. Your input is essential for us to construct a massage that meets your desires and needs for the session. For instance -- sometimes relaxation and stress reduction may be more important than pain relief, which often requires a little more focus or engagement on your part, and we can plan to accommodate that. We may want to change the plan once we get into the work, and that's ok too.
Depending on our plan you may remove none, some, or all of your clothes.
You may sit in a chair, lie on the floor, or climb into the warm cotton covers on my massage table.
I will leave the room while you prepare.
I often use oils during massage therapy. Organic olive oil is the base, sometimes mixed with coconut or grape-seed oils. I do not use fragrances...I do mix essential oils into your oil if you want me to. A different mix for every person. I will have you smell and feel your oil before I use it. Be sure to let me know what you like :)
Private parts of your body will not be exposed during your massage.
If you choose to make massage part of your health care routine and want to track the progress of our work together, you and/or I will make notes about your treatments before and after our sessions.
Our work together is confidential from my perspective. I will not talk about you with anyone unless you ask me to.
